DVLA Car MOT Text Reminders

If you have recently passed the driving test, and bought a car that is more than 3 years old then you would of course remember from the theory test, that the vehicle requires an annual MOT test certificate to be driven legally on the roads!

The DVLA is now offering motorists the option of registering to get an SMS text sent to their mobile phones reminding them of when their current MOT expires. The remindrs will be sent 5 weeks, 2 weeks and a day before your current MOT certificate expires. This service is not free, costing £1.50.

If you are interested, or for more details on how to register and the requirements, visit the DVLA Website.

As a new driver remind yourself of all the legal responsibities you need to follow if you are driving a car (even if a company supplied vehicle), and if not sure, then ask, as passing the driving test means you should have the knowledge, remember ignorance is no excuse in the sight of the law. Remember also the new driver's act, 6 points on your licence, and it is another driving test!
