Driving test tip for foreign licence holders

In the last month, I've had 2 learner driver pupil's who possessed foreign driving licenses and have booked tests without first consulting an instructor to find out if they are actually ready for the UK driving test. One of them has been to a DSA centre taken and failed the practical car assessment for a full British permit.

Because you've passed a driving test in another country and possess an international driving licence doesn't mean you can or will pass the UK driving test, especially when you don't even know what you will be tested on! The fact that the DVLA requires you to take a test here means that they don't believe you can drive at the standard the DSA will be testing you on, so you can't just exchange it.
